Institute for Materials (IMat)
Launched in June 2013, the Institute for Materials (IMat) represents a community of faculty members conducting materials-related research and providing leadership in discovery and development of materials that address 21st century grand challenges in areas such as energy, mobility, infrastructure, computing, communications, security, and health. IMat engages broadly across the Georgia Tech campus with other Interdisciplinary Research Institutes (IRIs) to enable leadership in broad application domains such as energy, manufacturing, bioengineering and biosciences, and nanotechnology, and bridges across all colleges and academic units at Georgia Tech, including the Georgia Tech Research Institute.
